The following lists contain the titles and authors for the required summer reading. It does not however have the writing requirements for each book. If you are new to the system or have misplaced your list with the books and requirements, please feel free to pick up a copy at the Middle School Office.
Summer Reading – Grade 6
Welcome to the sixth grade! Your teachers are looking forward to seeing you in the fall. We hope you have a wonderful summer vacation. In order to integrate the summer reading program with the English curriculum, we have chosen a short list of books by award-winning authors recommended in the Massachusetts Language Arts Framework. Wach book has the common theme of survival. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO KEEP A JOURNAL AS YOU READ ONE BOOK FROM THE FOLLOWING LIST:

Welcome to eighth grade! We hope you have a wonderful vacation and look forward to meeting you in the fall. Students will be required to read a minimum of TWO books during the summer months – at least one from each of the two Required Reading Lists and do two separate writing assignments.
